Review of "Bring The Soul" (The Movie)

The movie "Bring The Soul" was reconfirmation of each member giving their all even behind the stage. Their mind, concern, pain, joy, tear, smile, all in one package.

As the movie showed their tour around the world, I got chills. I literally got goosebumps. It’s obviously not my first time seeing the arenas and stadiums filled with ARMYs around the world with no Korean background. I’ve seen them so many times through fancams, news and official videos.

But this time, the weight of translating really hit me in a different way and made me think deeply about how meaningful and significant translating and sharing the context of what the boys say are to so many people around the world.

When I first started translating BTS contents, it was solely to spread their talents and messages so they reach more people around the world. Back then, I had to dig contents or make compilations of what were already available because they were not as well-known and mentioned.

But now, the contents are overflowing with their growth as global megastars, and it’s hard to keep up with them although I want to relay every little detail of what they say.

Now, to so many ARMYs around the world, the boys mean more than just artists. It goes beyond that. The boys became the lights that shine in the darkness of their lives. They find comforts, hopes, inspirations, drive to love themselves through the boys’ music, performances, and messages when they are drown in their own lives. When you face the desperate state in your life, even one sentence, even one phrase can turn your soul into a different path.

As I watched the movie, there were some words casually thrown to each other.

“Don’t give up until you challenge.”

“It’s not your fault.”

“The love of waiting & making someone wait is equal.”

I always try to be humble, but after watching the movie, I realized that I as one of the many precious ARMY translators play such an important role of relaying and conveying the boys’ messages even to the smallest mumbling words.

Because they can hit any ARMY in any situation.

There is no definite answer, but we keep looking for our own way to love ourselves because they keep sending us the message.

They Bring The Soul to us, and we use them to find the true meaning of “LOVE MYSELF”.
